Cubase SX users - I need some help.
Hi guys.
I'm using Cubase SX2 and I'm a beginner I must say. Ok, i have a drum loop opened in audio track and i want to apply delay on the very last beat of the loop. So i doubleclick the event and open the event editor (or audio editor)-cant remember the name. Then i select the last beat of the loop and put delay on it. So obviously the event is becoming longer than it was-but the part after the loop (the delay sound)is in grey colour and when i go back to the multitrack i only get the same loop with same lenght with only the very start of the delayed sound. So how can i apply this grey area in the audio editor - which has delayed sound in it - to the loop I'm trying to modify? So that the last beat would be changed and i could hear the delay till the end of it in the audio track of project....you know.
Sorry my English,

appreciate,
Max

If I understand you right
it sounds like you are trying to do some sort of off-line processing of your audio loop.
The problem you are getting is because Cubase won't automatically extend the audio event to accomodate your new bit.

If you want to add delay to the last beat - the best way would be to use automation.
Look automation up in the pdf manual. This is one of the powerful things about a DAW like cubase and you really need to get to grips with it. It's easy and intuative.

If you want the rest of the loop to continue playing after the delay you would need to copy the beat you want to delay to a seperate track and apply the delay to that. Which is another way you could do it anyway without using automation.

You would do all this without going into the sample editor.

Thanks, I'll check up the automation!
Also, if you are new to cubase, there are some really excellent tutorial videos from askvideo ..https://askvideo.com/index.php?cPath=22 ... 19aa02d24c
I found these great. They also have tutorial videos for Ableton Live, Logic and Protools
