Blackboard Jungle Dub Confirmation

Post by ianeditor » Thu Mar 29, 2001 6:49 pm

Hello all dub enthusiasts,
I was wondering if anyone out there could confirm something regarding the Upsetter’s album “Blackboard Jungle Dub”. I have two different copies. One on cd that pairs it up with “Scratch & Company”, both of which are licensed from Clocktower records. This has a cover that is multi colored, featuring a lion, marijuana plants, palm trees, a sunset and a cityscape. But I recently picked up a copy on vinyl with a strictly red and black cover featuring a blackboard and nothing else. The mix on this vinyl copy is decidedly different than the Clocktower version. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is the legendary “double mono” mix that is mentioned in the Reggae Rough Guide? On the back cover of the album it says “Distributed by: Coxon’s Music City” if that helps.
Thanks……

I also own the blackboard jungle dub vinyl album. I think this is the double mono mix. But this is also a crude copy because the titles of some tracks not right. This is an essential album!

Irie!

(what is "jungle-dub"? I would say that jungle is a kind of dub...(maybe better:dub-jungle?)) ;)
