Late 70's dub with sirens and other noises

Post by J-dub-P » Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:51 pm

Hi I am looking for any primitive space dub from the late 70's - like Joe Gibbs' "Jubilation Dub" or "Dub Three" (from African Dub Almighty Ch. 3). I have a ton of King Tubby from 1974-77 era and while it is unbelievably good, I am now looking for some stuff from the later 1970's when more adventurous noises were inserted. Some have criticized the technique, but I like some of that stuff - especially with deep reverb on the drums...Any recommendations on some early "noisy" dub? Obviously with the advent of electronic and computer-based dub, everything is thrown in nowadays, but the early stuff was still so much more raw and "analog".

There was a song I heard maybe 15 years ago which sounded from the same era I was speaking of. In the the introduction the producer said (something like), "Now dis one called Webbly Sebbly-y-y-y-y-y-(the echo fades out)"...it was a damn incredible track but I have no idea who it was. Anyhow, any recommended tracks would be appreciated much!
Joe
