@Sideway: That groove at around 2:00 in the "balloons in dub" video is mad bad and wicked.. Is that string-like noise going on the balloon that was strapped on that round thing before?

@Klaus5: The two videos of Najavibes with Asha and Adri are lovely.. These two guys seem to have birthday, xmas and easter on the very same day. That's what it's like when you have Scientist in the studio, hehe..

:-o

I found this, which backs up the picture of this wanton copyright theft and its scale:

http://www.bloodandfire.co.uk/db/viewto ... acfc362bf6

Some seriously dodgy shit going on. Fuck Greensleeves.

I hope you guys have some good copyright lawyers. I have a degree in law (UK) and if the problem is a British company I recommend you get witness statements from Jah Life, Michael Prophet and any other relevant party ASAP, declaring there was no assignment of copyright in their work to any party including Greensleeves and also declaring anything they remember regarding the level and type of work they witnessed Scientist doing. Then get an injunction pronto, and start your claim for damages for copyright theft. They are saying, on the basis of Jammy's statement, that Jammy assigned the rights to them. However the problem seems to be that Jammy never owned the rights to any of those recordings released on Greensleeves in the first place.

Wishing you the best of luck and in Scientist corner always.

Respect,

Zutao

http://www.myspace.com/jammyslies

Recordings of threatening phone calls and King Jammys admitting to lieing in court in defence of greenselves.

Nice to hear that the Scientist has had a small victory there and got some recognition of his skills and money for his work.

I read the other day that Familyman Barrett lost a case against Island Records for royalties. Apparently hes not been payed anything since Bob Marleys death. And there are many other complaints from roots artists along similar lines...

Its so sad to hear about the use and abuse of jamaican artists, the shit legal system and the con-artist producers and record companies. These people created some of the best original music, made so many people happy and influenced so many others, yet are never given the money they have earnt, just a tiny fraction of profits if anything, most of the profits are sucked up by vampires

The Scientist at King Tubbys video that is on youtube, but private.

Apparantly from a documentary about Musical Youth going to Jamaica and visiting various studios.
