what do you think? specially about the mixing. what do you think about the drum sound and the basic mixing of the instruments altogether?

Sounds great. I don't think there is anything needing a change really.

I like it man! Was this recorded in a one take live session? Or track by track? The mixing sounds spot on, except I might turn the bass up a tad, could be my headphones. This is a solid tune my friend, keep it up. If you are ever in the San Diego area I would love to play a show with you guys.

No, these are recorded track by track, because we don't have a drum cabin and I don't want the other instruments to leak into the drum track.
We perform it live kind of the same way, but this was dubbed afterwards by me.
Except this version has got 2 guitar tracks, live it only has one and keyboards playing skanks, but our keyboarder wasn't there for the session.

By the way the synth sweeps in the beginning and the end were made with a KORG Monotribe. Wicked device which can be used as a dub siren and to generate lots and lots of cool sounds.

s.h.

Those little Korg tingies are nice indeed. The one with the built in delay seems predestined for use as a dub siren:

It would seem like that, but the KORG monotrons are incredibly cheap, noisy and one-trick ponies.
The monoTRIBE is a whole different league. It's still quite cheap, but a real instrument.

It costs less than some custom built dub sirens, but it can do them all, and much more

I was tempted by the monotribe earlyer this year. But I was irritated by the rubbery keyboard and absence of midi connections. So after looking at different other small analog synths I finally ended up buying a slim phatty..

But the price is three times as high. I wouldn't spend 600€ for a dub siren.
