Interruptor,
I just purchased an echoplex(maestro). Can you give me some good techniques on sound manipulation? I just use a simple Tascam 4-track.
Also what are some good tools to run through it other than guitar?

The Echoplex is one of the legendary tape delay units so use it just as delays are used in dub: connect it to the aux send of your mixer (also your Tascam 4-track should have aux sends)and send everything you like through it (offbeats, vocals, drums..). I cant't get more specific because I don't know the unit. Just try around how you can use it best for your music.
Here are some links with more info about the Echoplex:
Loopers delight
Tone Frency
Michael Jarrett

Congratulations on a fine purchase, Fatty.
I have an Echoplex myself and I can't see the need for any other tape Echo. I have a HH tape echo but it feeds back with high frequency hiss. So the Plex is king.
You can chuck anything through it. Maxing up the aux send to it can produce a really nice warm distortion too. You can either feed it back by increasing the aux send on the individual mixer channel or with the feedback dial on the plex. Both very nice!
Peace.
Pete Deverills
