Hi MZ,
I have downloaded all new tracks, MZ electro style man ;)

A little bit too dark and electro for me, but i have pass a good relexion time while hearing this dub... sitting in a soffa with a bong.. Flying dub mix vibes!

Some drum make me think of trip-hop or i don't know what, i can remember which tracks exactely but it's very groovy.

The voice are sometimes too high, but i think it's for going deep in mind ;)

Thx for this new release.

KoCha

KoCha, thnx a ton for commentin'

trip-hop is trip-hop, I've done in the past some works in that genre. No, not in this album, thou... Two tracks in "Dust Of Dub" by 'composing' structure is more like an instrumental-pop, but it is not in its rhythm base. These tracks are: "Still Like An Ocean" and "Roads", the focuse on these tracks is way much on progression and melody, and less on rhythm and dub. I always have a couple tracks like that in dub-albums. They are important part of a 'concept through the album', I don't make compilation type of albums...
You may get 'trip-hop' feel sometimes thou, due to the fact that I sometimes alternate kik-drum off the down-beat... well, or I am not sure what exactly you are talking about... As a general drum-pattern-base in this album - it is very VERY simple and similar through all the tracks, there are some variation/fills here and there... there's nothing 'unusual there'...

If I knew what "high voices" you are talking about, then maybe I could say something about it

best respects,
/Mike Zee

oh, btw, here's the track which was 'responsible' for the whole album idea, I call these kind of tracks "a album-root track", meaning, that this is a track which was at the begining of an idea about the album, also often contains some "main character" of the album's image.
it's a second track in the album: DUST,
it maybe a bit musically too minimal, and somewhat lengthy (6:30)..., it's my fav. track of the album thou, well, I can not explain why, it's just one of those things, which the producer may like about some specific work... - some very 'cool moves' during dubbing session... stuff which can not be programmed nor recreated..., what has come out of fingers-on-sliders 'right-way' at right time.... then again, it's up to individual to hear these moments or totally miss them...

/respects,
/Mike Zee

Quote :
"sometimes alternate kik-drum off the down-beat..."

Exectely Mike Zee, it's that and it's the trakcs you say.

I have understand it's not compilation, when you hear 2-3 tracks of the same album i reconize there is a same spirit.. way of doing.

See You.

KoCha
