22" vs. 20" Bass Drum

Post by HM » Fri Aug 29, 2003 3:40 pm

I am repairing some old drums to make a set.
I have two good 20" BD ,. and a 22" missing
skin and fittings, will I have a much deeper
and dubby sound with 22" or is it not worth
the hassle ?

HM: don't know if this is really true, but I've always been told that smaller drums (especially bass drums)have a better sound for recording than larger ones. Anyone else have any experience with different size drums? Peace. Dan
