Has anyone on here used the Behringer B-CONTROL FADER BCF2000? look like it would be cool for some some computer dubbing. you can control vst plugin in realtime with automation etc.

Here's the link:
http://www.behringer.com/BCF2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG

i use a pocket control from doepfer which has more pots for the money. it's disadvantage is that the controls are pretty close together. so it's nothing for people with thick fingers..

I'm really thinking about getting the Behringer
it has 100mm motorized flying faders.
Thats unheard of for a mixer in it's price range.
Here's some video of the mixer in action:

http://www.dancetech.com/aa_dt_new/hard ... &lang=0

Hedorah, if you get it ...post someday how's going and if your get something really out of it in dub-production. It sure will give you something to 'feel' if you produce with computer software
I have a page, where I've collected other control-surfaces, which are available at mf on-line store: here's the page, you can check out other big-bros and compare. No other unit gets close to the price of around $200 or so in this class ..heh heh , you also can find some customers'reviews at mf. BCF2000 gets pretty good rating so far...

good luck,
/Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE

I'll post a review here once i get it
I should have it in a few days
I mostly use my computer for multi-track recording/mixdowns
I play instruments and still use alot of real world effects ie: spacexpander, tape echo and phasers.
so i guess i'll have to see if this will make mixing down easier.

Hedorah, do you mean that you actually use computer as multitrack recorder while mixing/dubbing on external analog mixer/hardware effects? hmmmm. I thought first, that you produce completely with computer software, and was thinking of adding "feel of real mixer move" to your production process.
Or do you do all mixing, using software mixing features?
What main software do you use? Just interesting to know.

/respects,
/Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE

That film from dancetech, the first intro film,
it´s extremely intertaining, hes cat keeps on
walking in front of the camera as he uses unlimited time to open this fucking box, the
only thing you can´t see while he speaks is hes
head, then while he stand up to show some close
pictures of the unit you see his underwear as
he forgot to close his pants, finally all is
put online,.... bravo,---bravisimo,---

Hey Mike Zee,
I do most of my mixing in cubase sx
sometimes I record stuff on an old 4 track and use all analog effects then dump the mix into cubase and tweak it a bit more.
I'm still working out some kinks.

just to add.. doepfer also sells a faderbox for those who prefer faders. the production of this one was stopped and they are now selling the last pieces.
also a monster controllerbox with 64 pots for ca. 400 Euro/$ is available.

i think it's a nice way of dubbing.. first create a basic mix with all the eq's, plugins, etc needed, then select the parameters you want to tweak in realtime during the mixdown and assign them on the controller.

Hedorah, I bought an UC33e, havent used it yet,
it´s a little troublesome but it is possible to
get it working with cubase it seems, it gives a
bit more knobs pr euro, but I regret that I did not wait a while and buy two behringers insteadt
so in short if your ask is this a good choice I
am sure it is, even on the high-level nuendo-
forum people seems very excited about it, there
is no alternative for the price i would say, and
not even if you pay considerable more, ability
to customize and add more boxes to be considered
also, just the third USB audio-interface box I
would not even consider, but fader/knob boxes is
very very nice, good build quality and quality
faders in big and useful size, not like my corny
plastic-evolution, wonder how much it would give
me seccond hand :-),
