With two OC´ed dual-Xeons I am very much aware 4 equal cases will be drilled out with BIG holes in the buttom, then they will suck each their own air from the "accoustic snakes" snakes you can see in the buttom, they goes out on the back Each PC is made up with some extra case fans on slow speed, big ones, and the PSU make flow also All hot air ends up in the back of the box, and here there is, in the top, a independant wodden frame, (rubber suspended), in this frame is 4 big slowly speeded fans working continuasly, and they blow out the air, again thru a 1.5 M long accoustic "snake-chamber", (that is the over- building that is already finished), the small snail you can still see in progress that is for the MX8000 desks 19" power supply, that will be mounted vertically from the back, taking up no space on the front There will be an external "switch-plate" for controll and monitoring ALL funcktions, (such as "reset" "off/on" "mains") ,.... finally one or two external USB-cases with DVD-burners The idea is that the box does not need to be opened unless the PC´s are defective or so Each PC is equipped with cheap seccond-hand Matrox G450 dual heads, with two 4-way KVM- boxes thay can be switched all possible ways to my two 19" monitors I moved studio to very humble locations, I have only one corner of the living-room, so this is a solution with all studio in a box |

Yep I think I remember that desk :-) it is so massive that a horse could dance on it as far as I remember, the box is soon as finished as will be, I will just put things on and paint the visible surfaces after that, the MX8000 supply will be noise-reduced also, THAT is realy nessesary, but then there is no more fan-gear :-), the box already did the virgin- session in it´s first incarnation two years ago, so I know that it basicly does work very well, You can mic up right besides with very sensitive condensers succesfully, and besides even in every-day use it is also cool to have a silent setup,......... Since I started I have reduced My music-setup to be only two very powerfull dual-xeons, I do hope to be able to run these two teleported when they are up, convolution etc. for some nice lexicon impulses and so on,..... Then there is two PC-slot´s left, on for my office/internet machine, and one extra for an old spare-machine or a server, of course ALL could be telepoted but I guess it´s not realy nessesary, but on another note I have heard that conecting several machines might give me a very powerfull video-editing solution, but I am not aware how this works and have not time to play with this any time soon. One machine might be used as "VCR" also. I might put up some more pics in a few weeks |
