i have an idea. Theory: burn a dvd containing a empty video with 5.1 audio, using as audio an .ac3 file burned by me with selcted parts in all the six track. Play this dvd on a cheap dvd player equipped with the 5.1 outputs routing all theese outputs to a mixing desk. do you people out there think it is possible? .....hope you'll answer cause i love dub but have no money to buy expensive stuff..... hi.. this sounds like a brilliant idea to me. i quickly browsed the net trying to figure out what software would be needed to actually get a multitrack project into the surround format and then onto a video-dvd. creating the actual 5.1 surround audio should be no problem as the usual music applications like cubase or logic all claim that they allow surround mixes. how to get the surround mix on a video dvd is not clear at all to me.. it seems that the entry level dvd-maker programs aimed at hobbyists do not yet support surround sound. so you need to use professional software which is expensive. if you find a way to get this done please let us know..  there is also a dvd audio standard with superior audio quality. this is however not what you want as audio-DVDs can only be played on special dvd-audio players. | ||
