You better check so it has Post Aux Send.
in other words, so when you send Aux, the signal sent is after volume and EQ.

But it seems like a nice mixer as far as i can see.

I seems that u can send 4 effects at each channel, is that to little for a dub setup?

It seems like it has two Aux send which is kind of standard. And some fb (feedback), but i don't know what it do... Can be some kind of built in echo thingie...

Anyway, 2 aux send is all you need for dub. 1 for your delay and one for the reverb. You can, if there was 4 aux sends, of course have multiple delays and/or reverbs. Eg. one send to the long decay spring reverb and the other to the short decay one...

But seems like a good board. Read something about "Seck was started by guys from Allen and Heath" which is a good thing cos' Allen and Heath make fine boards.

The difference between Post send and Pre send is: if you have Pre send, it sends the signal directly from the source (in other words; it doesn't matter what EQ is set on that channel, or if your volume level is all the way up or completely off). With Post send it sends the signal after the volume and EQ. But most proffesional mixers have both pre and post (changed with a switch). I prefer a post aux send because you can for example have the channels volume completely off, turned up the aux send to your tape delay, then just by quickly turning up the volume it releases the sound with an echo.
instead of turning up the volume and send at the same time to achive the same effect.

Hope you understand what i mean... It's late, you know.

I got a roland space echo, roland sde 1000 delay, lexicon reverb, boss super phaser, old FXR multi FX and soon a compressor. Then 2 aux mayby is to little. How should i setup the rest of the effects.

Dont know so mutch about mixers so i am glad for
all the help.

Well... The phaser, compressor and FXR multi effect (depends what effects you are using) is used as an insert effect, which means it the whole sound is processed (in other words there's no dry signal). Send effects are (mostly) used on reverb and delays (and similar effects where you want to keep the dry sound mixed with the processed sound).

2 aux sends is standard on most small to medium sized boards. I have 2 aux sends on mine, using one for my delay and the other to a spring reverb. It's enough for dub. I think most great (Tubby's, scientist, jammy's) dubs was made with only 2 sends... It's more about playing with your delay settings then to use 3 different kinds of delays.

But i don't think you should worry, if you really want to use all your stuff it's possible. You have 8 busses on that board, which is more or less the same as aux send.

Hope things clear up...

for example, you can use phaser as a send effect as well, in some cases it can save you from some wiring. If you want some phaser on snare drum and skanks at the same time, just send both of them with an aux to the phaser (or use a PRE aux and turn the volume on the channel down). This is not a typical usage of phaser, but hey, dub is about experimenting :)

I agree with what's been said here about aux sends. I have two on my board, one for reverb and one for delay. I have two delays in my setup, an analog, solid state delay and a tape echo. They are both fed via aux 2 through the use of a splitter.

The reverb return signal is also split to feed the "B" inputs on each of my effect return channels.

All you need to do to select one delay or the other is switch to the proper input on the return channel. The effect return channel not being used for delay can be flipped to "B" line input and becomes the reverb return.

Hope that makes some sense. I initially wanted some sort of switching device to switch between effects but splitting the effect sends is a much more elagant solution.

I have experience with the seck 1882, i owned one a while back. the fb sends i found to be pre fade auxs, and the auxs where post, the echo was post aswell. its a good mixer, mine was noisy on the outputs but was useable. The company was a british one that was about in the 80s, they where bought out at the end of the 80s by soundcraft, that then used the ideas of 'one pcb' in the spirit folio range and probably some of the circuit designs. its got plenty of gain and headroom, the eq is great but has no switch. i wouldn't pay much more than about 150-200(GBP) for one of these, often they are found cheaper. there where two colours to: grey/yellow markings(first series) and black/with white(second series). hope this helps.

I like this idea of using the splitter - i have always felt limited by only two auxes. What do you use for a splitter? Can you recommend a good one?

I use small "y-cable" RCA type splitters sold just about anywhere consumer electronics are sold. These allow you to distribute an effects send to two different inputs or an effect return to a pair of channel inputs.
