I have a ok offer, any comments ?, just to
have a good pre-amp for the TLM-103 besides
my desk, (MX8000), opto-compressor, variable
tube-destortion apeals also :-)

the 3 guys over here seem all happy with their trakmasters.

i use the same mik as you alongside a m-audio dmp3. i decided to put the money in a straight preamp and record directly to 24bit digital instead of getting a whole package of analog gear of less quality for the same price. i feel more comfortable recording a clean signal and do all the sound shaping on the digital side during final mixdown.
of course you have to record at a lower level if you don't compress the signal but the 24 bit resolution gives enough reserve (compared to the 16 bits resolution of the final stereo mix) to do the compression on the digital side.

I decide also for a streight pre i guess, better
wait, one channel is to little also,. drums are
waiting, and 4-5 quality mics are soon reality,
TLM is a keeper, NT-1 will be exhanged with 2 x
studio projects C1 or Studio Electronics SE2200
for high-level overhead also my pair of PRO37R
used for OH before might be good for close mic
of HH or cymbale, otherwise sold also, thay are
to fragile for close-toms :-(

what i need is more likely:

In case it is as good as my other RME stuff, it
has to be significant better than my MX8000 also

Anyways drum-recordings will be done at my brothers place from now on, only conga and
melodica and vocals here so two it is ;-)
