Hello all, I plan to buy a Yamaha SY-85 to make my own music but I wonder if some of its sounds are the same than the olders DX series or CZ for Casio. I really want to have cheesy sounds, like old vintage synths as King Jammy used, does anybody who knows the SY-85 could tell me if this one is for me? Thanks a lot | ||

If you haven't already, you might get good info by posting on Yamaha forums: http://www.yamahaforums.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums There's one section there dedicated to the SY series. The SY 85 uses Yamaha's AWM system - which basically is like sampled waveforms - so although you would probably be able to get cheese from it, I suspect it is fairly good qaulity.
