DUB DISCUSSION BOARD

Getting back to the subject, to my ears there seems to be a bit of compression going on pre mastering. ie. vocals and bass seem very regular in volume. <BR>Another thing I'v noticed is his drummers are so tight. I'm almost wondering if the man had some tape loops happining ?

I havnt read much about the use of compession by those eary dub pioneers. Maybe the lack of it was part of there secret. Listening to Lee Perrys stuff sound like there is either some kind of compession goin on there or his musicians and singers have great controle. Tape compression perhaps ? <BR>Lo...
