Feedback
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback Red eye! I'll think about the brightness level on the reverb. Practically, I think a 'bright' & 'dark' switch would be a way to go for that... giving a different flavor of reverb without allowing the reverb to feedback too easily. Hmmm... I'll get into that after th...

Swing/Tension Arm
My focus is now on the tape transport section of the tape echo. Here's a couple pics of the swing/tension arm... http://theghostecho.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/arm3.jpg http://theghostecho.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/arm2.jpg One of the rollers in the pic was machined here...

Video Update and Pics
This last stint took a while. Now the Reverb and EQ sections are working. Here's a like to the video demo with the machine as an aux effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vg1uDeBp30 Here's a couple pics of it's current state as well. http://theghostecho.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/photo-1.jpg h...

Right on
The reverb alone unit would definitely be 'affordable'. Most cost associated with the multi-effect is in the tape echo components (heads especially). I have thought about a standalone reverb unit as well. It would be a stereo / dual mono unit, also with a single band parametric for live or static to...

Right on
Thanks for the question and interest Aux1Dub. The tape transport will be very simple - similar to the Copicat, Echoverb, Reverbatape, and other short loop systems. The loop will be about 26" and be very easily replaced. The 3 play heads will be movable. Here's the rough layout so far. http://theghos...

Little Update
Made some headway on the eq section & integrating it with the spring reverb. Also redesigned the pcb again... smaller and smaller is better. Here's a pic of the beginning of the second prototype with a blank proto board ready for components. In this prototype all components and hardware will be very...

Thanks!!!
Thank you Interruptor! I appreciate the encouragement! :) This forum has always been a great resource and education spot for dub/reggae music and gear. It has been a go to for me, even long before joining. Very glad it's here! I hope it's ok to post pics & such as the project progresses. Thx again, ...

Echoplex Sireko Transport Mod
Hey Hey
Just wanted to share a video of an Echoplex Sireko mod. The tape transport seemed poorly designed and in need of some love. I'd love to hear feedback or see other's tape echo mods.

I'm not familiar with a 1969 model of Echocord. That the year made? I know they made an s62 s65 s75 s76 and a mini. I've owned an s65 and a Klemt Echolette ng51 and e51. Klemt was bought up by dynacord back in the day. I believe they all use the same motor from papst company. I'd just buy a defected...

Sounds to me like a tape transport issue. I've never used an HH but there's I'm sure there's some kind of spring with felt that puts pressure on the tape (similar to echoplex) which helps keep the tape moving smoothly across the heads. If your unit is missing the spring & felt or if it's not applyin...

Thanks for the input Manu. That's just it though - my feet are wet with a recent diagnosis and successful repair of a Copicat Tube Tape Echo. I know how to discharge power caps and test transformers. I have no problem soldering in caps and resistors. And I am very careful when working with high volt...

Fisher Reverb - tone mod or param eq?
Hi all, been viewing the board for quite a while, but this is my first post. I am awaiting a fisher reverb from devilbay (yay!) I'd like to have the most control over the reverb tone in the aux signal while dubbing from computer, through the mixer, and back to the computer. The question I want to th...
