Anyone else obsessed with uncovering the hidden gems and lesser-known figures who shaped the early days of dub? We always hear about Scratch, King Tubby, and Lee Perry (rightfully so!), but what about the studio engineers, session musicians, and even the record shop owners who were instrumental in crafting that signature sound?

That's very true. For marketing reasons we are often presented with the same few famous names whereas others are overlooked. Much of the greatness of golden era dubs was only possible due to the many people who came together and contributed their specific talents and love for the music. Perry's Black Ark wouldn't be as revered today if he had not had access during that short period of time to outstanding musisicans like Boris Gardiner and Leroy Sibbles or vocals from the Heptones or Watty Burnett to just name the first that come to my mind. Also what would Tubby's heritage be if it wasn't for Bunny Lee who rounded up the great musicians/vocalists and produced multitrack tapes that were mixed at Tubby's studio in the first place? Scientist mentioned that he actually mixed many of the Dubs that were released under Tubby's name. Another of many unsung heroes is Sylvan Morris who mixed the original version of the Living Dub Vol.1 album (Burning Spear).
