what were the mics !!!!!
Hi everybody, does someone knows what types of mics were used in jamaîcan studios such as tuff gong, studio one or black ark. I saw a sennheiser 421 in the liner notes of the 'story of jamaican music' cd's, is it because it was used very often ?
These informations seem to be very hard to find but i need it to graduate from my sound engineer school (i must give them my essay on the first of june) please help me ...
PS: english studios such as Ariwa interrest me too.

In the book "People Funny Boy" David Katz writes that Lee Perry used an AKG drum mic for vocals up to 1975. (This info is from a post by Swingin Chad to the old Dub Board)
