22" vs. 20" Bass Drum

I am repairing some old drums to make a set. I have two good 20" BD ,. and a 22" missing skin and fittings, will I have a much deeper and dubby sound with 22" or is it not worth the hassle ?

HM: don't know if this is really true, but I've always been told that smaller drums (especially bass drums)have a better sound for recording than larger ones. Anyone else have any experience with different size drums? Peace. Dan

Yes smaller drums are used for sessins as they are more controllable, however i have bought skins for the 22" now HM

Smaller bass have more punch bigger ones are more thunderous I prefer a smaller puchier sound
