Hi everyone,
I am into producing dub since a few years now and I am still wondering what those fancy looking stomp boxes are that a lot of dub oriented soundsystems use in their live performances.
They are usually in green yellow and red and have a few push buttons and potmeters on it.
They are mostly operated by hands not by feet, I think they generate some dub siren sounds or bleeps but I could be mistaking.
Does anyone know these devices, what they do and if they are useful where to get them?
Blessings, 1 love!
What are those reggae stompboxes and what do they do

Re: What are those reggae stompboxes and what do they do
Thanks a lot, I was aware about dub sirens, I guess I just didn't realize most of them are D.I.Y. made so they all look slightly different...
I might just buy a dub siren (or build one) of my own in the nearby future...

I did build one from scratch in Reaktor lately, it was pretty educational ... to understand how things are wired in the real thing (plus it works and sounds great).
If that sounds interesting to you, let me know and I send you the patch.
