Phono Preamp for Spacexpander?

I read that Interruptor uses a phono preamp in front of his Spacexpander.Is that just a Radio Shack model? Or something nicer?What is the Impedance etc.?......Interruptor?Anyone? Thank you in advance, Steve

it's not a phono preamp. I use a microphone preamp. it's a pretty good model that i have bought at the same time as my microphone. Since it has two separate channels I can use one as a preamp for the spacexpander and the other one for the mic. before i bought the mic preamp i used a modified old walkman instead. circuit bending is king.. <IMG SRC="http://www.interruptor.ch/cgi-bin/discu ... t/king.gif">

Best regards, Steve P.S.I am trying to make a mounting plate for all the parts (i.e. the spacexpander preamp and tank).Is there any way you could post a pic of how you have yours set up?If not ,thats cool,I just thought maybe it would get the Idea machine going...Thanx Again.
