Hey ,now that's a great thing to have the whole family dubbing it together!
My observations:
- It's the type of dub which creates a vibe by small variations and hypnotic live playing rather than by drastic mutes and effects. That's fine and fits your style well.
- The riddim section is tight. Those brothers are on the right track, no doubt..
- Nice horn section (although far off key at 1:47 - But that must not necessarily be seen as a bad thing in dub )
- beautiful voice
- the guitar and piano parts are not very tight against each other and versus the riddim section. This is most obvious in the parts where drum&bass are muted.
- I don't like the piano timbre very much (the one which plays the melody fragments) - it sounds a bit thin and glassy, thus makes me think more of a rom-player synth than of a real live instrument. So it get's somewhat annoying over time, especially as the piano is permanently in the mix. Maybe some saturation effect and probably a phaser could help to breath more live into it
Overall the track is a pleasure to listen to. Nice one

Lovely riddim mate!
I love the family vibe going on here...
Thanks for sharing.
This is truely inspirational!
As for the phaser VST issue, yes I agree...there arent too many that do the job well.
One I have been working with a lot lately is from Audio Damage called
Phase Two which was modelled after the original Mutron Bi Phase.
I've done some side by side comparison with my original hardware unit and its relatively close!
If you cant afford the original unit, this is a definite bonus.
Now if they would just model a plugin after the Mutron III Envelope filter..
Check it out here:

Regarding phasers we had two discussion here already:
http://www.interruptor.ch/Php5/dubboard ... ght=phaser
http://www.interruptor.ch/Php5/dubboard ... phaser+vst
In the meantime some new free ones are available which I didn't try yet. See this seaerch for free modulation effects at kvraudio (newest effects first):
http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=re ... =3&rpp=100
Also my own "Wow & Flutter" can be used as a flanger. Flanging is a special case of Phasing. See:
