Which Guitarr for dubbing?

Hi! I have a Yamaha PAC 120S electric guitar. Is it good for playing reggae guitarr? Please help me!

All Solid Body eletric guitars and acoustics are good for reggae.

Gibson Les Paul special or Les Paul studio. NO IBANEZ: you will always hear a bad ringing tone when doing ching-ching with an Ibanez. Telecasters are fine too.

for rhythmic in roots rock reggae (70"): for the skank there was the most time a gibson les paul with p90 pu's (singlecoils or for the tschicke-tschicke (you know ? like earl chinna) a fender stratocaster! i also saw @ burning spear a telecaster but listen to marcus garvey/garvey's ghost ! it's the badest offbeatguitar i've ever heard!! I want a buy a fender mex. classic 50, i think it's an allrounder ;) or should i buy a epiphone and put p90 inside ?? but the tschcike would sound bad i think mh ;) Speet

Yeah. Any electric guitar can be used for skank. Heavy gauge strings helpTube amps are best for a nice "chuck". Wah and phase with give you that nice early "squelchy" sound that Scratch was famous for... think black ark sound

At the moment, I am trying to achieve that really raw gritty chop sound (studio one).. like Horace Andy - Skylarking album

bit of extreme eq-ing gets me close

It doesn't mater that the threads are old - the forum acts as a kind of knowledge base - it's all relevant additions.

I got a PRS SE 22 with a P90 in the bridge position and the standard PRS humbucker in the neck position. Sounds and plays amazing i would definatly recommend it!!!!
