Beatbox-style Dub experiment "Mouff Dub No1"

I am not a beatboxer, but i had the funny idea of making a dub tune only
with sounds that i can produce with my mouth. For recording i used a RFT
DM 2112 M microphone which you can get for 1€ on ebay.
I can only recommend this "production" -technique ,as a time killer when
you're bored, to all who like experimenting with weird sounds and
effects, its lots of fun.

Very surprising, great idea & realization!

How did you process your voice to get that bass?

Hi Interruptor, i'm glad you like it!

I recorded the voice then put an Exiter on it boosting the lows all the way and then added two compressors plus heavy EQ. Then i duplicated the track and pitch the duplication one octave lower. voila! oh and in the recording process i had putten some socks over the mic to make the sound more mudy so that the highs and mids are not recorded so loud..

in the sample you can hear how the voive was in the beginning and then how it sounds processed.

Wow that's really a dramatic manipulation of the sound! Thanks for sharing.. May I ask which method/plug-in you used for the pitch shift? I recently tried shifting a voice (spoken words) one octave down and the result was terrible. The consonants sounded very diffuse afterwards.

Yes, very interesting manipulation! you can create an heavy bassline with your voice...good trick Yiannis!

Oh yeahh, i just love dramatic and excessive manipulation of sound

..I use Cubase SX2 as my DAW and for pitch i just use the built in pitch effect with time correction, but i think this would not be any good for a clear voice ..maybe for pitchin it some notes but not for an octave..
