Hi there everyone - Jah heights. I'm nonprofessional guitar player - I'm a literature critic indeed, scholar ass, but I play guitar for more than 14 years (I'm 27). Well, never mind that all. As a kid, I was a headbanging epileptic speed-thrash-progressive-death metal guitarist, and when I was 18 I started to listen more carefully jazz, funk and dub music. And that's the way it is today too. Well, I play with three bands (1 - post rock, psycho noise grunge stuff, 2 - funkjazz hip-hop grunge like Beastie Boys and UDS, 3 - rough melodic dub (like Zenzile, TCDSS) with elements of psycho rock, ambient and noisy jazz music (Naked City, Laswell etc.), and as you see, I need guitar effects to cover many styles and suits. Since I'm from Belgrade, Serbia I can't afford to experiment too much testing many different effects. I'm also very limited with choice, but my bro. from NY sent me some great stuff. Here's my effect chain: Peavey Limited Edition Series - MXR Dynacomp - Budda Wah - Boss SD1 - Boss DS1 - Electro Harmonix Stereo PolyChorus - Boss Giga Delay DD20 - and some shitty Harper 50W amp. For gigs I borrow Roland Jazz Chorus from my friend. Except serious amp, I badly need an analog phaser pedal, and I would be very happy to hear some tips which peday I could buy for no more than 200$. I was thinking between Electro Harmonix Small Stone (which is quite cool, but very limited) and MXR Phaser 100. Do you know what should I try? I need a adjustable flexible rich sound with waveform and rate controls at least. Any more guitar players to share their chain thoughts here? I'd be pleased to read you. Greetings to all. Dusan |

Can't belive I'm the only dub guitarist on this site. About phaser - which analog phase pedal for guitar (200$ max) you find suitable for various dub trips. Cheers. |
