   oops, sorry.  this was supposed to be part of the "dub construction kit" post.  I think that Laswell's collection of samples is the closest thing to a dub construction kit you may get.  |

   don't worry looter.. i put the post here because i think the Laswell CD is worth it's own thread.    I once listened to the CD in a shop and found it to be sounding a lot like Bill Laswell and not so much like the seventies DUB sound i'm after.    What I would like to see in a dub sample cd would be:  - hi hat loops (recorded with a 70ies feel/sound)  - snare and percussion hits through a spring    reverb (soon i'll have my own spring reverb    then i won't ask for that anymore..)  - offbeat guitar chops  - hornriffs    On the other hand i agree with DC that it's cooler  to create something new yourself - if you can of course.  |
